The April Flower Foundation was founded in memory of Robert Nunes, a vibrant, passionate individual whose academic and spiritual achievements left an indelible mark on all who knew him. Robert was the life of the party—known for his warmth, energy, and sense of humor—but he was also a man driven by purpose. From a young age, Robert excelled academically and later went on to graduate with a degree in Engineering from Northeastern University in Boston. His love for learning and unwavering determination were the cornerstones of his life.
Upon receiving his diagnosis, Robert made it clear to his friends and family that he wanted to leave a legacy that would inspire and support future generations. His vision was simple yet profound: to open doors for young people who demonstrated the same tenacity and ambition he had shown throughout his academic journey. In keeping with this vision, Robert chose to donate much of his estate to fund scholarships for deserving students.
Today, the April Flower Foundation carries forward Robert’s mission by providing scholarships to hardworking, determined students in pursuit of their educational dreams. Over the past several years, the foundation has awarded scholarships to four talented individuals, empowering them to pursue their goals and continue Robert’s legacy of academic excellence and resilience.
We invite you to join us in supporting these dedicated young people—helping them achieve their dreams, not with a handout, but with a hand up. Together, we can honor Robert Nunes’ memory and make a lasting impact on the lives of future scholars.
